Looking for a dog-friendly hotel in Cornwall? Look no further – Oceanside Hotel will get those tails wiggling and wagging no end. As firm dog-lovers, we know that it isn’t a proper holiday without ALL of the family and that includes your fur babies which is why all of our rooms are dog-friendly (loving). Just an additional £25 per dog, per stay means Buster can come with you – so if you were thinking of leaving him in kennels, think again…
In order to help you plan your dog-friendly Cornwall break, we have compiled a list of our favourite local year-round dog-friendly beaches (so you don’t have to!)
Fistral Beach
If you are seeking hotels near Fistral Beach, rest assured, this iconic surf beach is right on our doorstep! We are fortunate to boast sweeping views over Fistral Beach and its rolling surf peppered with surfers tackling that epic Atlantic swell. So, rise from your restful slumber (literally) oceanside with your four-legged friend in tow and take a leisurely stroll down to Fistral for a day of discovering where the land meets the sea.
Great Western
The clue is in the title, this beach is absolutely great. The UK’s only dog-friendly Blue Flag awarded beach, the beach champions here created the country’s only beach system that allows them to welcome dogs to a certain area of the beach, whilst ensuring the Blue Flag area is dog free to comply with the required global standards. A sheltered sandy beach backed by cliffs popular with families and learner surfers due to the smaller surf.
Holywell Bay
Recently a hive of activity with film crews filming a Game of Thrones sequel, Natural Trust owned, Holywell Bay is a sweeping expanse of golden sands fringed with beautiful sloping dunes. At low tide Holywell Cave with calcium deposits can be seen and the wreck of an old Argentinian coaster can be seen just offshore. Now that’s worth sniffing out!
Crantock Beach
A short and very scenic walk from us, Crantock is a beautiful large sandy beach, great for pooches. Also popular with beachgoers, families, surfers and bodyboarders. At low tide there are plenty of rock pools for making a splash in.
Once you return to Oceanside, post adventure, you will have no doubt worked up a sea-air appetite, so enjoy a tasty dinner in our restaurant overlooking the magnificent home to British surfing. With a menu sporting the best of locally sourced provenance and vegan and vegetarian options available, you and your precious pooch can soak in the views together. It’s a dog’s life!
